When you’re planning your garden, it’s worth considering what you can do to make it suitable for entertaining friends and family.
- Splash out on a set of smart garden furniture – you can always supplement it with a few cheaper folding chairs if you have a lot of guests.
- Always make sure you have a spot for outdoor cooking. It’s best to position your barbecue at ground level for stability and in a sheltered site to stop the smoke blowing in your face when you’re cooking.
- Outdoor heating enables you to party outside no matter what the temperature is. Choose from gas heaters and electric heat lamps or tabletop heaters.
- Wasp traps and citronella candles are great for dealing with the unwanted insects that could ruin your alfresco dining.
- Create mood lighting by adding wall-mounted electric lights or solar-powered lights placed in pots and containers. Candles and tealights in hurricane lamps work well, too.
- For safety, it’s best to lay any armoured electrical cabling or water pipes in the garden under paving.
Time to invite your guests around.
Entertain in your garden with great furniture.
i would tend to regard the garden as that extra room that is seasonally availible . The installation of a 240 volt weatherproof plug point with RCD is a great boon and lessens your reliance on batteries . Not too sure about encouraging patio heaters , a good fleece or jumper is better!
Hi Francis

Hi Jacquie… thanks for your comment.
Sorry to hear your garden is not inspiring you. It would have been great to use your garden on Garden ER however no further gardens are required for the current series. If you wish to register to be considered for any future series please visit this link
