Cooking Christmas dinner can feel like a huge responsibility, especially when you’ve got lots of people to cater for. But there’s no need to feel stressed on the big day, as long as you’re well prepared and don’t give yourself too much to do, you’ll be fine.

Christmas dinner is already a huge affair, so don’t overcomplicate things by trying to provide too many different side dishes. Two or three quality sides alongside a perfectly cooked turkey is much more appealing than a plate piled high with every vegetable under the sun.

Brussels sprouts are of course, a given, but jazzing them up a bit is always a nice touch. I love mine with bacon bits, almonds and cream. It seems luxurious but is actually very simple to make, plus, the lure of the bacon bits might even convince the kids to give them a try.
