Garden Furniture

After all that hard work in the garden: planting, pruning, digging, raking, mowing and sowing, you’ve earned a well deserved sit down and a piping hot cuppa.

It’s not too long ago that the only option to sit down in a garden was the traditional wooden bench. How things have changed! Starting with the folding chair we’ve now moved on to some quite exotic designer furniture. And why not; you’re going to need some decent garden furniture to be able to relax and enjoy it!

Quality

Whether it’s a large dining table and chairs for frequent outdoor entertaining, a bench, swing seat or hammock for snoozing in the shade or a bistro table for two, the right style, design and quality will reflect your personality and enhance the beauty of your garden.

Choice of Materials

Garden furniture comes in a variety of materials in a great range of styles to suit every setting.

  • Teak is always a popular choice, good looking and durable it’s resistant to the fungal problems which can affect other wooden furniture due to its high oil content.  Teak is resistant to most weather conditions and with a little care will last for years. It is advisable to use a teak protector once a year to keep the wood in great condition.  A teak bench makes a handsome seat against a wall near fragrant plants and is also ideal for a stylish dining set with a parasol for outdoor dining.
  • Plastic or resin furniture is a practical and surprisingly environmentally friendly choice, with many stylish options made from recycled plastic which can be moulded to resemble wicker or wood.  Easy to clean using a sponge and soapy water, plastic or resin furniture can be left outside all year if necessary.  Resin patio sets comprising a sofa and a couple of chairs with cushions have a great contemporary look as do loungers or steamer chairs for those lazy summer days in the sun.
  • Metal furniture is another attractive option, in both traditional and contemporary designs.  Aluminium, tubular steel andwrought or cast iron are all hard wearing and extremely durable materials.  Metal furniture comes in a variety of different protective finishes and colourswhich will prevent rusting. An elegant metal bistro table and two chairs will enhance any style of garden – just right for tea for two!

Covers

If you’re short of storage space when your garden furniture is not in use you can buy purpose made covers to fit almost every piece including picnic tables and dining sets, individual chairs, benches and swing seats!
