After much hard work and deliberation, the expert judges for the Cultivation Street campaign have decided on who they think is the best example of community gardening for each of our five regions!

These gardens are changing lives, communities, and the environment itself in incredible ways. Each of these regional winners have earned a prize, but the ranking and overall winner will be announced at the beginning of September.

Woodlands Community Development Trust has transformed a derelict urban gap site into a thriving community garden and outdoor community centre. Creating a therapeutic space that helps people to recover from the strains of everyday life.

SAGE Greenfingers runs a horticultural therapy project for adults with mental health needs in the heart of one of the most disadvantaged, multi-racial areas of inner city Sheffield. They specialise in reaching out to people who wrestle with complex challenges.

Mudlarks is a a Hertford based charity and community gardening project for people with a learning disability or mental health issues. They work together to learn new skills, gain self confidence and create a sustainable and productive environment.

Residents from three streets in Belfast have joined forces to transform a neglected alleyway into a wildflower haven. The project involving 34 households is the first community led regeneration project in an area that has been in decline for 20 years.

Shades of Black Community Family Project came into being on the 1st February 1989 after the Handsworth riots in 1985 when commercial and domestic buildings were destroyed by fire. Their multi-faceted approach, one of which is working in the garden, has been doing great work and improving lives for decades.
