Garden Gear

With our variable climate, several months of the year can be quite a freshening experience of the hardy gardener. It is essential to keep warm, otherwise tasks become more difficult and the enjoyment can disappear.

A good pair of gardening gloves is a very important part of your gardening gear – wearing the wrong gloves can be a hindrance rather than a help.  The right gloves for the right job means you can get the work done properly and protect your hands at the same time.
There are various types of glove depending on the requirements:

Leather, waterproof, gauntlet, flexible, hi-tech fabrics – they’re all readily available to help you get the job done.

It’s good safety practice – to say nothing of comfort – to wear the right footwear when you’re working in the garden.  Thick, ridged soles are important to protect your feet from thorns or thistles and the ridges will give grip to prevent slipping on wet grass or muddy surfaces.  With work to be done all year round in the garden and in all types of weather, it’s important to think of comfort and the protection of your feet whilst undertaking various gardening tasks.
