I’m joining forces with Millbrook Garden Centre in Gravesend to get Kent schoolchildren involved in raising money for Garden Re-Leaf Day.

This year the nominated charity is Greenfingers, which has launched a ‘Rosy Cheeks’ appeal to raise funds to build unique, magical gardens in kid’s hospices.

To help with this, kids from local primary schools have been asked to think up ideas for plants and features that would make the perfect garden for sick kids. I chose the winning entries after giving talks at Millbrook on Sunday 16 March – find out who won here!

It’s a great idea to get children involved in designing the gardens for children’s hospices. I loved seeing their ideas for plants and features.
