Alyssum Gold Dust Seed by Mr. Fothergill’s. Great for rockeries. Bright yellow sping flowers and contrasting grey-green foliage. An ideal ‘carpeting’ perennial. For edging, rockeries, dry walls etc. Height: 30 cm/12-inch Plant Class: Hardy Perennial (HP) Habit: Dwarf Bushy. Useful Information: Suitable for containers; Full sun; Fragrant variety; Awarded the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit; Suitable for attracting Bees; Suitable for attracting Butterflies; Perfect for Pollination Sow and Grow: Sow indoors for surest results, February-April, 0.5 cm (1/4-inch) deep, in a tray of compost. Water well and place in a cold frame, unheated greenhouse, or on a warm kitchen windowsill. Keep moist. Seedlings usually appear in 14-21 days. Transplant individually, when large enough to handle, to 7.5 cm (3-inch) pots (always handle by a leaf and never by the stem). Gradually accustom young plants to outside conditions, before planting out into well-drained soil, June-September, 30 cm (1-feet) apart. Or, sow outdoors, April-June, in a seed bed, into finely-prepared, well-drained soil, which has already been watered. Thin seedlings to 5 cm (2-inch) apart, before planting out to flowering position in autumn. Flowers: March-June. Hints and Tips: When flowering finishes in early summer, trim back the plants to retain their shape for next spring.

I have an indoor growing system which allows me to grow all throughout the year, I have tried these seeds and out of the “average 150 seeds” (which I don’t think is actually the amount you get), only 7 spouted and only 4 have continued to grow sturdily, these are however in a very early stage so still may fail. I have many seedlings & cuttings currently growing in my system which doesn’t seem to be a problem, only failures I’ve had are these seeds to date. I won’t be buying again, these seeds that were planted have been occupying valuable growing space that could have produced something more worthwhile.
