Plant Class: Hardy Perennial (HP).
Useful Information: Suitable for contained gardens; Herb garden
Sow and Grow: Sow and grow indoors for all year round crops. Sow 0.5 cm (1/4-inch) deep, in small pots of compost. Water well and place in a warm position. A temperature of 15-20 degree C (60-68 degree F) is ideal. Seedlings usually appear in 14-21 days. Grow on in cooler, but not cold conditions. For earlier outdoor crops, sow indoors March-May. Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts), before planting out into warm, well-drained soil, 20 cm (8-inch) apart, during May-June. Alternatively, plants can be grown on a light windowsill. Or sow outdoors March-May for ease, where they are to crop, 0.5 cm (1/4-inch) deep, directly into finely-prepared, warm, well-drained soil, which has already been watered. Thin seedlings to 20 cm (8-inch) apart. Harvest: by cutting leaves once they reach 15 cm (6-inch) tall (outdoor crops from June). Pick a few leaves from each plant so they regrow quickly.
Hints and Tips: If you are short of space, chives are decorative enough to be grown in flower borders or pots on the patio. It is a rewarding and long-lived herb.

Well, been a couple of months since my purchase, didn’t plant immediately but have to say germinated reasonably quickly, not quite ready to harvest but happy with the results
lisa meredith –
Seeds to start my own planting
Kelly –
Everything is sprouting up nicely now -We planted several different seeds the other day rocket radishes lettuce and chives so for the other three have all sprouted really quickly within a few days and already peeking through the mud. The chive seeds are the only tray that is showing no form of life at the moment but it is only day three after planting so I will update this post when we have something that we can be chopping up to put on our salads

Pricey chives. The crop in the second and subsequent seasons are next to non-existent.

Fast germination but very slow grow literally they stay in the same stage forever had them for 3-months and tried absolutely everything with the same results
