Lobelia Sapphire is a half-hardy trailing annual, and flowers the same year as sown. With a trailing habit, and plenty of rich, blue flowers with tiny white eyes, they are ideal for window boxes. After the first flush of blooms fade, trim back the plants to encourage flowering for longer.
Description
Lobelia Sapphire Trailing Seed by Mr. Fothergill’s. Rich, bright cobalt-blue with small white ‘eyes’.
Useful Information: Plant somewhere in partial shade. Suitable for growing in containers or hanging baskets. Sow indoors from January to April. A warm kitchen windowsill is all you need for starting these seeds. Sow thinly on the surface of a small tray of pre-watered compost. Place in a warm, light position. A temperature of 15-20 degrees Celsius (60-68 degrees Fahrenheit) is ideal. Keep the compost moist. The tray can be covered with clingfilm to preserve humidity, but remove when seedlings appear, usually in 14-21 days. Transplant them, in tiny clumps, 5 cm (2-inch) apart, to other trays when large enough to handle. Grow on in cooler, but not cold conditions. Gradually accustom young plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts), before planting out, May-June, 15 cm (6-inch) apart, into well-drained soil, when frosts are over. Flowers: June-October. Hints and Tips: Trim back plants, after the first flush of blooms fades, to encourage further flowering.

Malikye Damelar –
Good number of seeds germinated giving colourful display.
See Sea –
They were very good seeds and germinated really well. The colour is gorgeous, but they were not the trailing kind of lobelia as stated on the packet.
Ciara Mackellar –
Great seeds, very easy to grow. Germinated and sprouting in just over a week!Seeds are tiny, but there are so many in the pack that it’s easy to sow enough to get going.
Cynthia H. –
Actually after a month of being indoors they are only just showing through. I’m quite disappointed
