Description
Sow indoors for surest results, February-April, 0.5 cm (1/4-inch) deep, in trays of compost. Water well and place in a warm position. A temperature of 15-20 degree C (60-68 degree F) is ideal. Keep moist. Seedlings usually appear in 14-21 days. Transplant seedlings, 5 cm (2-inch) apart, to other trays when large enough to handle (always hold by a leaf, never by the stem). Grow on in cooler, but not cold conditions. Gradually accustom young plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts), before planting out into well-drained soil, May-June, 30 cm (1-feet) apart, when frosts are over. Or, sow outdoors for ease, April-May, where they are to flower, 1.5 cm (1/2-inch) deep, into finely-prepared, well-drained soil, which has already been watered. Thin seedlings to 30 cm (1-feet) apart. Water well until plants are established. Flowers: June-October.
Hints and Tips: Remove the dead heads regularly to prolong the flowering season. Cosmos does well, even in poor soils or dry summers.

I left off writing this review until they actually flowered (October from planting end of Jun) at which point they are 6 – 10 foot high. The germination rate seemed good too.

About 90% germination. Now let’s see how these do. (Will update) Sowed them late so won’t be blooming for a couple of months yet..
Les Peters –
Thought this would be a light and easy gift. The recipient received and sowed the seeds and still waiting to grow so can’t comment on the quality.

Seeds not working
Sad gardener –
My Cosmos sensations have reached a height of almost 7 feet. They look lush, alas not one has flowered. They propagated well, planted out when around 10 inches high, fed and watered. But no flowers.

Bought these as we like Cosmos, they should add nice colour to the garden. Followed the instructions and waited for several weeks and now instead of Cosmos, we have plenty of Marguerite Daisies growing instead. Sadly it seems the wrong seeds were put into the packet which is very annoying.
