Florence fennel di firenze seed by Mr. Fothergill’s. Mild ‘aniseed’ taste. Large crisp white bulbs, with a mild ‘aniseed’ flavour. Easy to grow and fast to mature. The feathery foliage makes an attractive garnish and is good for flavouring many dishes.

Sow and Grow: Outdoors: sow thinly, May-July, where they are to crop, 1.5 cm (1/2-inch) deep, directly into finely-prepared, well-drained, fertile soil, which has already been watered. Allow 45 cm (18-inch) between rows. Seedlings usually appear in 7-21 days. Thin seedlings to 20 cm (8-inch) apart. Water well until plants are established. As the swollen stems start to develop, build earth up around them to preserve the whiteness and subtle flavour. Harvest: July-October.

I’d love to be able to review this item but seeds dont germinate and grow in 2 days much to Amazon’s chagrin. Perhaps I’ll wait until planting time and then let nature take its course. Update in summer.
