With the classic column grill, every barbecue evening becomes a pleasure.
The column grill owes its name to the base, which resembles a column and has a foot at the end of the floor. The column has many advantages that distinguish the grill: an ash collection container and an adjustable ventilation slider can be found here. This has the benefit that the air supply can be regulated as desired. If more oxygen is supplied to the coal via the column, the embers can pass through faster – this is the so-called chimney effect. The ventilation slider should be open during the firing. As soon as the food is placed on, the air supply can be reduced. This saves the grill master with the “Vista” time and fuel without having to sacrifice the smoky taste of the charcoal.
As the column grill uses the air supply under the charcoal, the grill surface is higher than most other charcoal grills, providing a comfortable working height. With the wooden handles on the cooking grate, the grate height can be easily adjusted to make optimal use of the glow strength. The high temperature, which is achieved by the chimney drag effect, provides a good prerequisite for searing and crispy grilling results. The ash collection container collects the ash during grilling and makes subsequent cleaning very easy.

The area for the charcoal burn is very deep and would take a full bag for the coals to get anywhere near the food. I have bought a cheap roasting tin and punched a few holes in it, this sits higher in he charcoal burning chamber. This means the charcoal is near the food and you loose less of it. The stainless steel body seams to be wearing well and looks good in the garden, just needs a bigger fire grate to use less fuel .

I was impressed by this barbecue, it is very sturdy and looks more expensive than the price. Some assembly is required, but really just attaching the central column to the base, and building up the fire basket. I did it on my own easily. The bolts are sturdy but no spares – so don’t lose any.This looks great on my patio, highly recommended.

Really pleased with this purchase, easy to put together by following the instructions, useful having 2 different heights with the rack, and the emptying tray, no downside as yet, used 4 times since we’ve had it, 5 days ago!

After not receiving this when said was delivered it was speedy to actually come with a replacement. Easy to put together looks good and a good size grill. Apart from a little discoloration at the bottom where the coal burns hottest it’s perfect.

decent grill does the job, has 3 heights to adjust the meat level down and up. its not the strongest quality but its very sexy and boasts a good BBQ every time you use it. there are no difficulties with using it, straight forward and if you have two like me, you blast them both at the same time. fish on the left lamb on the right.
