Wet Weather Gardening and Preparing for Spring
Hi there,
It’s been a rainy month, but hold on. The daffodils are ready to open, birds are singing in the garden, buds are swelling in readiness to open, and the days are getting longer. Spring is on its way.
You could try your hand at planting up a container now, with plants like pansies, heathers and primroses to take you into the growing season.
It’s a great time to start sowing seeds on a windowsill or in a propagator indoors, for steady warmth to encourage germination. In the latest episode of Step-by-Step, I started some sweet pea, chilli, and tomato seeds indoors. To catch up, watch it here, and try growing your own.
More gardening advice is available in my weekly pages in the Daily Express and the Daily Mirror every Saturday. You can check them out online here. I also have some new blogs below, including some great plants to grow this month, and advice for how to install a water butt in your garden.
I’m keen to hear what you’d like to see more of in the newsletter. Just reply and let me know your ideas.
Enjoy your garden.
David
