In the Garden This May
Hi there,
The garden changes so quickly in May. A single week can bring fresh blossom, new foliage, and before long, your entire garden begins to take on a fuller, richer look.
It is also a particularly active time in the garden. This month is perfect for sowing hardy and half-hardy annuals, planting up containers, moving tender crops into place, and giving climbing or taller plants the support they will soon need.
Hanging baskets can look especially lovely in May too. Brighten up patios, doorsteps and seating areas with plants like pelargoniums, lobelia and nemesia, or try a more productive basket with strawberries or tumbling tomatoes for colour and flavour together.
Below, I have shared my latest monthly blogs, with May garden planting inspiration, practical advice on what plants to add to a new build garden, and more for the weeks ahead.
I’ve got a few upcoming events over the next few weeks. See the dates and locations below:
- Sunday 10th May – Planters Garden Centre
- Monday 11th May – Gates Garden Centre
- Tuesday 12th May – Fairways Garden Centre
- Wednesday 13th May – Almondsbury Garden Centre
- Tuesday 19th May – Alexandra Palace Garden Centre
- Wednesday 20th May – Carpenders Park Garden Centre
I’m always keen to hear what you would like to see more of in the newsletter, so do feel free to reply and share your ideas.
Enjoy your garden.
David
